Taking Action for Joint Staffing – April 2025

UPDATE: Our action got results!

Kaiser finally released the financial data we need to move our Joint Staffing plans forward—because of our action and perseverance. From our Coalition-wide sticker-up in April to consistent pressure from the National Oversight Committee and frontline organizing across the regions, union members made this happen.

Remember, plans are due Aug 31—but they’re not final without UBT consensus. Don’t miss this opportunity to push for better staffing, better care, and a stronger Coalition.

On April 23, thousands of union healthcare workers across the country stickered up and sent a clear message to Kaiser: We won’t stop until we have the staffing our patients need.

Short staffing is still one of the biggest issues in our departments, and one of the main reasons we went on strike. In that fight, we won a promise: that Kaiser would partner with us to solve the staffing crisis.

But now, Kaiser management is backtracking on their word — again.
They’re refusing to provide the data we need for Joint Staffing to work, just like they did with PSP bonuses.

If we want real partnership, we have to be able to trust each other’s word.

As healthcare workers, we’re constantly being asked to do more with less, and it’s not fair to our patients. We know the only way staffing gets better is if we keep fighting for it.

We are united, we are organized, and we’re holding Kaiser to their promises. And we will continue to do so as long as it takes.

INVEST IN STAFF. INVEST IN CARE.
