77,000 frontline voices are now on record for better staffing

It’s official. More than 77,000 frontline voices are now on record for the staffing needed to prevent burnout, support our teams, and deliver the care our patients deserve.

Through Joint Staffing, our voices became a documented record of what frontline teams need.

Thanks to the leadership of UBT co-leads, staffing champions, and workers across the Coalition, 86% of Unit-Based Teams submitted 2027 Joint Staffing Plans—a 2% improvement over last year.

Now Kaiser leadership has a clear picture of what teams need and, through the Partnership, a shared responsibility to act.

That is the power of our Coalition: WE identified staffing as a priority, WE helped build the process, and WE drove this work forward in every region, facility, and department.

Kaiser budget-makers are now reviewing the submitted 2027 joint staffing plans. Not every request will be approved, but that’s not the only measure of success. Together, we’ve developed worker leadership, documented staffing needs across the system, and strengthened our ability to advocate for better staffing—including at 2027 bargaining.

What’s Next? Stay connected with your UBT to track your 2027 plan outcomes, keep advocating for the staffing your team and patients need, and be ready to take action if needed.

Proud of what we achieved? Let’s hear it on Instagram and Facebook.
