#ThankfulFor our #union #1u
Must-read: This report from @greenhousenyt takes a look at five workers and documents how belonging to a union has lifted those workers, has improved their pay and benefits, and given them a far stronger voice at work.
We are happy to hear @AHCunions have just settled an agreement with Kaiser without a divisive two-tier system. We are proud of every single union member who took action to stop this attack on workers and patient care and bring about this victory, yet our work continues.
Not only are @aboutKP executives failing to confront the crisis in care brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, their drive for profits over people is making things even worse for patients and workers. Enough is enough @KPNorcal

An additional 40,000 Kaiser Permanente workers in northern California are voting to authorize a one day strike in solidarity with 700 building engineers who have been on strike for weeks.
This is in addition to the 32k KP workers who set a strike date for November 15
Today, @AHCunions march for safe staffing and better patient care by firmly standing against two-tier wages/benefits at @kpthrive. As other hospitals raise wages, Kaiser races to the bottom. Patients and communities deserve better. Solidarity!

Workers across three states are preparing for a massive strike at Kaiser Permanente. The heart of the conflict is Kaiser's two-tier wage proposal, a rarity in health care. https://labornotes.org/2021/10/kaisers-outrageous-two-tier-wage-proposal-may-provoke-massive-strike
